Kulp Jewelers is my second website published!! There is a huge difference between the website I published back in 2007 and the one I just published. To start out my clients goal was to lower his target audience 5 to 10 years and wanted the site to be very entertaining. To do this we searched for sites that are entertaining to us and mimicked the idea. We found a very interesting web introduction that asked the viewers questions on Mercedes Benz website. I then recreated and customized the flash introduction and added music to the background. After the flash introduction is done the viewer is linked directed to the website where he or she can look around at the jewelery and even sign up for a mailing list. Personally, I feel by working with my client we were able to produce something we are both proud to show others! Once agian please visit http://www.kulpjewelers.com/ to see it in real time.
I am currently a student at Northampton Community College looking to receive my Associates degree in Web Development by Fall 2011. I have always had a passion for design and have a creative eye for color and movement. I have been published in different medias. Currently I am working with Morning Star Church in Quakertown to create graphics for sermons. My goal is to fix up a website I created my 4 years ago. Feel free to visit www.slipcoversbysheila.com. But remember its being updated shortly!

Free Fonts Website
The challenge of this project was to learn how to embed fonts into the web page for several reasons. I choose to use fonts and color choices only to create the calming exciting atmosphere. On the home page I used an example of each font when you scroll over the section it glows telling the costumers that it is a click-able link. Overall I love the look and feel of the site I think I accomplished a lot through the use of text.

Slip Covers By Sheila

Slip Covers By Sheila's website my first published website. I created it in 2008 for my high school senior project. Through working on this project overall I found if fun to work with someone and combine our ideas to create the finished product. I am very pleased with the sight. Needs a few touch ups but they are currently being done now.
Fyre Body Art
Before

After

Side Page

I choose to recreate Frye Body Arts website. I really wanted to present the professional atmosphere they provide but capture the edgy and creative tattoos and body modifications. Overall I wanted I wanted the viewer to feel intrigued to look at the rest of the sight. In order to do so I kept constant flow around the page so that the viewer would know were to go for the navigation and feel comfortable. By doing so I am really pleased with the out come of the sight I feel it is professional, classy, and still has an edge that will keep viewers coming back.

Magazine Cover
Before

After

The Magazine Cover was our very first project assigned in Photoshop so I wanted to shear with the class and viewers a little insight about me. I actually started out with two pictures shown above and merged them together to make the perfect picture that would catch viewers attention as they walked by. Then I continued to take normal text and modify it to my visions. Overall I think that my magazine cover was fun and action packed and perfectly fit what was required.

Dreamscape
Starting Pictures

After

My goal in my dreamscape was to demonstrate that I am a rounded individual who can go from doing an extreme, exciting, fun piece of art to a deeper and more serious piece. Interestingly when I begin it was with two brightly colored backgrounds which where them merged and masked together making them more of a combined unit. The background that I created left a feeling uncertainty not exactly knowing where the eye should look. I then choose take the idea of a person looking out upon the world through glass. Although she is protected and inside there are many struggles, she is witnessing though the window.
Outside the window in which she is looking are several objects that were placed because of the symbolism of the object. Starting form the Right hand side there are three trees. I choose to place three trees in the picture because three symbolizes a compass and how people need direction in life. However, the number three can represent religion and religion provides people with hope. The trees alone represent growth thorough life not only physically but mentally as well. Trees eventually die and so will we and we will become apart of the soil, which the trees grow. On the other hand I placed in a clock that shows the inside gears and gadgets that keep the clock ticking. I personally choose the clock because I think everyone always fights against time. Moving over to the Left hand side, I placed a stairway that is covered with leaves. I wanted it to represent going into the unknown of the future. In the top left, there is a plain white robotic face. It is to represent being one of a mass production to represent that you need to be your own individual. Finally, I placed labrys is a personal touch.

Website Interface

The Cherokee Jewelry Website Interface project was the most difficult project by a landslide. Choosing the colors and the layout were the easy part but actually finding the pictures were difficult. I choose to put two navigational bars because every website that I have liked has had multiple navigation though out there website. I also wanted it to be easily read and maneuvered though. In my header I choose to mesh the Cherokee nation Symbol with the Spider pendent in which is a piece of his hand made jewelry in the top left. Then I proceeded to place a spider web background because of their famous folklore about the black widow spider and the animals quest for the first fire. The full story can be read at http://www.cherokeebyblood.com/cherostories.htm#J. I believe that my website was intriguing and would defiantly intrigue the viewer to look more into the jewelry in which he created.
Logo Design Package
As a team our general idea was to make the logo fit our client needs and personality. We found that she wanted the logo to be professional yet shear a fun more upbeat side. The logo we created has two kickers the cork screw and the Wine glass with the bubbles. Yes the bubbles may represent or make you think of Champagne but that’s good because Champagne is actually a carbonated wine in which some of her clients may choose to have at their party! we choose to emphasize the bubbles throughout the rest of the package.

Type Portraits
A couple of things ran though my head when choosing different pictures to recreate in illustrator. My goal was to show my personality and show my spontaneous and random side to the viewers. I thought it would be a way to connect and show my personality though a web screen.
Before

After

Overall I struggled with the value portrait the most. And with that struggle came great success I am very pleased with my value portrait. This picture of me was taken after a long road trip back from upstate New York. That may not seam like a long car ride to everyone but when I am in a car longer then 20 minutes its considered LONG! My best friend and i stopped to get gas and walk around when I randomly stuck a pose and the shot was taken. The picture turned out great. Furthermore, The song I choose dates back a couple years when the Spice Girls rocked the music charts with Wannabe. On that note I think I will let the rest unsaid and for you to think about!
Before

After

For the line project, I believe the hardest part was finding a picture that fit the requirements that I had preset. I wanted to present a very basic outline and still provide the viewer with a little bit of who I am. I choose this picture simply because it gave the most interesting outline. The picture I choose is of me standing on a fire hydrant in the middle of Savanna Georgia's famous Bull Street. Overall the picture captured a great day fulling around and exploring in the city with my twin sister! Yes it was Priceless!!! I choose to use lyrics from a song Teddy Geiger wrote called For You I Will simply because the whole song talks about coming out of your comfort shell and not being afraid to show who you are even if that evolves failing.
Before

After

The shape project I found very difficult. I actually took a different approach I printed out the picture and with a permanent marker began to draw on and explore what different shapes, letters, would look like different areas. By doing so I was able to turn the white paper over and view what my art piece would look like before I started with no specific idea of what I wanted it to look like.I discovered that the letter “m” works well for my nose so I now call it my Michel Jackson nose! The picture that I choose was taken by my cell phone to model the new shades had just received in the mail. Of course the picture was sent to my sister so i put on a surprised face to mimic the look when I open the package at college! I think my approach shows I believe that I used many different shapes throughout and the portrait does indeed take on my facial expression and shape.

Architectural Illustration
Before

After

For the final architectural project I decided that I would jump out of my comfort zone and dive right into a building I found in the heart of Camden, New Jersey while venturing to Adventure Aquarium. A snap shot was taken as we slowly drove by. I loved the colors and the balance though out. I really like the graffiti and thought it would be fun to explore! Later to find out that the graffiti was the most difficult, challenging and detailed parts of the project. The building itself was simple but still had its own little details. Overall I am very pleased with the way my architectural drawling in illustrator turned out and I do believe it shows all my skills I have learned in the program.
